Designing this site map is the visual representation of the card sorting exercise. It laid the groundwork for building the site map. Here you can see the navigation will have multiple pages within each category.

Enable users to create personalized gear lists based on their camping preferences and past purchases. By integrating these lists into the app, we aim to make planning and shopping for camping trips seamless and efficient, encouraging users to rely on the app as a key part of their outdoor adventures.

" The Proposed Solution "

An Unexpected Issue

" What didn’t work ? "

  • Users ended up browsing through categories aimlessly, which led them to unrelated products rather than their saved gear lists.

  • Users struggled to find where to create or access their personalized gear lists. The button labeled “Create Gear List” was not intuitive for users.

" What did work ? "

  • The recommendations based on previous purchases were well-received and helped users find relevant products quickly.

  • Once users discovered the gear list feature, they found it easy to use and appreciated the ability to save their preferences.

  • Users enjoyed the simplified checkout process, which made purchasing their selected items straightforward and hassle-free.

" What should I change "

  • Since users had no trouble creating their gear lists, I focused on making the feature easier to find.

  • We renamed the gear list to "Wants" and positioned it prominently after user registration to ensure immediate visibility.

  • Additionally, we added icons to each item for easy identification, enhancing the overall user experience.
